On 23rd September 2024, the Godavari Initiative (TGI) hosted a pivotal Regional Consultation in Nashik focused on addressing the urgent ecological challenges faced by the Godavari River and its surrounding regions. The consultation brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including corporates, industrial bodies, government agencies, civil society organizations, and academia, to discuss innovative, tech-forward solutions for the sustainable management of the Godavari River Basin in Maharashtra. The event underscored the need for collective action and highlighted insights from key areas surrounding Nashik. A significant milestone of the consultation was the signing of Letters of Understanding (LoUs) with three prominent industry associations, Ambad Industries &  Manufactures Association(AIMA), Nashik Industries &  Manufactures Association (NIMA), Maharashtra Chamber Commerce Industry Agriculture( MACCIA), marking a commitment to collaborate at the state, district, and block levels for the long-term preservation and revitalization of the Godavari River. This collaborative step reinforced the collective resolve to secure a sustainable future for the Godavari Basin through joint efforts and action.
